Since SMCF began in 1997, we have funded 2,400 grants totalling $72,352,026. SMCF also aligns with our Native tradition of potlatch, where we give good fortune to neighbors and friends. It’s our way of showing gratitude for the place that we call home. We use profits from Spirit Mountain Casino to reinvest in our communities. As the philanthropic arm of the tribe, we focus on bringing our vision to life: “to improve the quality of life in Northwest Oregon through community investments that provide lasting benefits consistent with the Tribe’s culture and values.” The Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde established SMCF in 1997. We are honored to be a part of the Willamette Valley community, and we give back through the Spirit Mountain Community Fund (SMCF).
